we are here!

We have arrived in sunny key west! Change in plans though, we are going to southernmost point tomorrow daytime. The Sunset area is about a mile away from there that is where we are going tonight. Then we are strolling through town to a little restaurant that our concierge made a reservation for us at, Cafe Sol.

It was a 3 hour drive from Miami to Key west. We have a brand new PT Cruiser rented from Hertz. It had 84 miles on it this morning. Jim drove from the airport for about 15 minutes. Then I took over and Jim moved to the passenger seat ... where he had an attack of restless leg syndrome, so we stopped so he could walk it off. Then he moved to the back seat and slept for the rest of the time.

For me, the drive was spectacular! The water is so blue it looks fake. I will post pictures later when I have time to download them.

Our hotel room looks out at the gulf of mexico. Great view.

We are taking the shuttle van downtown at 5 to get to the sunset area ... this way we can both have a few drinks toight - like Las Vegas, you can walk around with open beverages here - I am, of course, going to try to find a margarita by the yard. Woo hoo!
